firearms, handguns
Is it legal for a California resident w/CA license to go to Arizona and buy firearms, not being AZ resident?

I want to buy handguns and certain semiautomatic weapons and cannot in CA because of tough gun laws here. Can I go to Arizona and buy them not being a resident of AZ? Of course I will transport them back to CA at my own risk.

No. You have to be a resident of the state where you’re purchasing firearms at. You’d need a valid Arizona ID and be able to provide an actual street address. Some states even require you to have been a resident for at least 90 days.

Also keep in mind if you’re caught bringing banned firearms into California you could be prosecuted under federal law because you crossed state lines. We’re talking heavy penalties here.
