How do I soften a vinyl jacket to look more like a leather jacket?
I’ve got a great thigh-length vinyl jacket jacket that is meant–but doesn’t quite manage–to look like brown leather. The problem is the vinyl is just a bit too shiny and stiff.
I’m just wondering if anybody knows a way to soften the vinyl and perhaps dull it a little to give it a more realistic leather look?

Unfortunately, the only way to soften vinyl is to warm it up! Vinyl softens as it gets warmer, and you may have observed this if you’ve ever left it in the sun or in a warm car.
If you apply any kind of solvent to it, it will just dissolve the surface, not soften it internally.
How do you keep faux leather from cracking?
I bought a faux leather jacket and after about a year, it started to crack at the fold of the collar. How can I condition the the faux leather so it doesn’t crack ??
